He decided to learn kathak in the age of 23 after completing his academics. From the very beginning he was so convicted to learn this traditional Dance form art just not to gain knowledge about this but really he want to be an exquisite dance performer with a matured grace.
He received his primary training from Vasanti Vaishnav of Raigarh Gharana. After 8 Years grasping the basic and technical details of nuances of kathak got the shelter of the legendry Kathak Dancer and guru Padmavibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj. Ritesh learnt the .critical… composition of Raigarh Court as well as he tried to acquire the charm,the elegance of lucknow gharana from maharaj ji.To be a student of maharaj ji ,obviously it is a great achievement of Ritesh kathak journey. The rhythmic value and execution of body language in dance ,is all that taught by maharaj ji.
Overall Ritesh conceive the graceful shilloute of Kathak in companionship of only maharaj ji, that is the actual depiction. of Kahak. To flourish this traditional dance form art ;Ritesh founded a cultural organization “KalaManjari” Natya Sansthan, to explore and to present the proper and authentic style of Kathak.Bythis institution he wants to perpetuate this art to society to new generation in a way of moral.
